The Lesson: Never assume that one person has talked to another person about an incremental part of what you're trying to do, especially if the second person is kind of at the top and can seriously weigh in on the decision. Like, seriously.
As of today we have enough consent forms back for 5 focus groups, which is fantastic! Tough thing is, we're not sure we're going to be able to keep our demographics for our focus groups the way we want to. It's kind of out of our hands. Right now we have our focus groups beautifully arranged according to reservation versus town students and males and females. But the monkey wrench that was thrown in today makes it nearly impossible for us to keep these focus groups as homogenous and effective as possible. The monkey wrench: pulling students out of core classes. I'd love to be hopeful that members of our focus groups will have precisely the same schedules, but I'm not. Bummer.
